Ashtanga Yoga is the practice of synchronizing the breath with continuous movement to create a physically cleansing and meditative state. Ashtanga serves as the inspiration for many vinyasa, power and flow styles that are popular today. Astanga is traditionally practiced in the “Mysore”style. Individuals study at their own pace while receiving personal adjustment, supervision and modifications from the teacher. An uninterrupted sequence of poses and movements provides students with mental clarity, physical strength, and flexibility.
Facilitated by Kristy Tonti, Ashtanga Club Autumn Study will introduce beginners to the historical practice, and provide experienced yogis with refinement. Un-led and in silence, Mysore offers yogis the opportunity to experience a profoundly meditative state.
