Meditation Series

Meditation Series 2018-02-02T16:58:29+00:00

Project Description

Join Karen Blöchlinger for a 12-week practice and study course based on the first part of Sayadaw U Tejaniya’s new book, When Awareness Becomes Natural: A Guide to Cultivating Mindfulness in Everyday Life.

Come and see for yourself! Each week will focus on and explore a different topic of his teachings such as awareness, relaxation, right attitude, wisdom, right view. U Tejaniya is a renowned meditation teacher from Burma, whose teachings are simple, practical, and suitable for daily lives already crowded with commitments. Instead of emphasizing formal sitting meditation (which he does encourage), he offers a practice in which we learn to remain aware in a relaxed, meditative way from the moment we wake up to the moment we fall asleep. Sayadaw, whose youth was marred by delinquency, drug abuse, and petty crime, successfully used this method to recover from severe depression while he was working in his father’s store.
