+ What style of yoga do you teach at BYH?
Our classes are all different and unique - no two classes the same. However you will be introduced to techniques, theory, lineages, methods that offer a colorful tapestry that expresses how yoga can integrate into your life. Our teachers have studied with various teachers and are certified in multiple styles and disciplines including Vinyasa, Hatha, Katonah, Ashtanga, and Yin yoga. You are welcome to come to any class and try them to find out what resonates with you right now.
+ What if I am a total beginner?
Our hope is that we always come to the mat as a beginner! However, if you've never been to a yoga class before here’s what we invite and encourage: introduce yourself to the teacher before class, tell them anything that you feel is important for them to know about your body and/or intention, and remember (and remind yourself lovingly) that yoga is a practice of the heart. Learn steadily and consistently at the pace you define. The magic is in learning good technique, self study and awareness. The secret ingredient is a whole lot of repetition and love. If you feel stuck or confused, communicate that to your teacher. They are here for you!
+ Do I need to bring a mat?
Yes, we recommend that you bring a mat. If you don't have one yet you can purchase a Manduka or Society 6 mat at the studio.

+ How many times a week "should" I practice?
